The Briefing
The confirmed facts, separated from the noise. Updated every time Rockstar drops something new.
A modern reimagining of Vice City and its surrounding sun-soaked state. The largest, most detailed world Rockstar has ever built.
The series' first dual leads since GTA V, and its first female lead in the 3D era. A Bonnie-and-Clyde story at the center of it all.
Confirmed for current-gen consoles at launch. A PC release is expected to follow, as is Rockstar tradition.
Trailer 1 broke YouTube records. Trailer 2 expanded the world and the cast. An Extended Look ran 26 minutes of gameplay on August 27 2026. We break down every frame.
Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson puts the map at roughly twice GTA 5's and three times Red Dead Redemption 2's, with Vice City alone about twice the size of Los Santos.
Nelson has given 30 fps as Rockstar's console target at launch, and says there is no full first-person mode on day one, though first-person aiming is in for some weapons.
Two editions: Standard at 79.99 dollars and Ultimate at 99.99. Every pre-order before launch includes the Vintage Vice City Pack.
Rockstar's pre-order materials confirm GTA 6 ships as a single-player experience. The next era of GTA Online is expected to follow separately.
The Latest
The newest confirmed details and rumors, updated as Rockstar reveals more.
The creator previews that unlocked alongside the Extended Look carry the first hard figures for GTA 6, most of them from Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson. The map is roughly twice GTA 5's, his own playthrough ran about 80 hours, consoles target 30 fps at launch, and there is no full first-person mode on day one.
Five new Random Transform Races arrive this week alongside triple GTA$ and RP on Transform Races all week and a 6x bonus window on Drift and Transform Races from August 28 through 30. Three vehicles get new drift-tuning options and the Sultan Classic returns to the Podium.
Rockstar's Extended Look premiered on Netflix at 3 PM ET on August 27, running 26 minutes and captured entirely in-game on a base PS5. The six-star wanted system returns, police now track what you are wearing and driving, Jason and Lucia can be swapped instantly while together, and San Andreas-style body customization is back. November 19 stands.

Two lives on a collision course with the American Dream. Here's who you'll be running Leonida with.
The Lead
The first female protagonist of the modern era. Fresh out of trouble and looking for a way up, whatever it costs.
The Partner
Lucia's partner in love and crime. Calm where she's fearless. Together they're the heart of the story.
The Hacker
Jason's paranoid friend who sits at home monitoring Coast Guard comms and treats most of what he finds online as a credible lead.
The Veteran
A seasoned bank robber with the confidence and charm to put together a crew. If the score is big enough, Raul is interested.
The Vice City Legend
A local Vice City legend who turned a street past into a real estate portfolio, a strip club, and a recording studio. Warm and easy on the surface, all business underneath.
The Smuggler
A veteran Keys drug runner who looks like a beach bum and moves like a great white shark. Jason lives rent-free on his property, with certain obligations attached.
The Music Mogul
He spent his street years with music as the exit plan. Now he books acts for Boobie Ike and just signed the Real Dimez, with ambitions reaching well past the Jack of Hearts.
The Rap Duo
Bae-Luxe and Roxy, friends since high school, who turned shaking down dealers into rap tracks and a following. One hit five years back, and a second shot now that Dre'Quan has signed them.
The Informant
Raymond's partner, missing before the collection job and back during it. Coverage of the Extended Look reads him as the reason the police arrive.
The Task Force
The officer leading the task force that raids the building during the collection job. Only the surname has been established.
The VIP
A high-profile client who hires Jason and Lucia as security for a business event. They collect him at the airport. The evening does not stay civil.
The Connection
A drug dealer in Boobie Ike's orbit, wary about moving product. Jason and Lucia are sent to collect from him and walk into a situation already going wrong. Also written as Ray and Rayman in early coverage.
